In the summer of 1993, Eric Smith put together a business plan detailing a company that would meet key electronic product needs for retail stores. He asked his friend and client, Roy Mussaffi, owner of a chain of successful retail stores, to take a look at the plan. Mr. Mussafi liked the idea so much that he partnered with Mr. Smith to form Intech, Inc., in September 1993.

Mr. Smith, Mr. Mussaffi and a staff of four set to work and soon formed partnerships with companies like Sanyo/Fisher, Pioneer, Zenith and Sony Electronics. Intech promoted and supplied these companies' products to independent, local electronics stores that were financially unable to offer such a dynamic product line. Business was good, and by the end of 1994, Intech hired two more employees, including Sales Manager, Ken Yokel.

Helping Introduce HDTV to America
Then, in 1998, Intech secured a contract as the authorized New York fulfillment partner for Samsung Electronics, which was planning to reenter the U.S. marketplace. When Samsung introduced the integrated High Definition Television (HDTV) to the U.S., Intech was there. They were one of the first companies in the country to sell high definition televisions.

Home Theater Division Begins
The success that followed led directly to the launch of Intech's Home Theater Division. Converting Mr. Smith's office into a showroom, Intech quickly secured its first home theater job. As more jobs came in, Intech kept adding services, including custom cabinetry design in 2001. In 2002, they hired Bryan Glass to run the Division. He added more products and custom installation to the offering, bringing Intech closer to becoming a full-service organization able to craft entire home entertainment packages for clients.

Looking Ever Forward
In September 2003, Intech's expanding services, client roster and employee count necessitated the move to a larger facility in Hicksville, New York, complete with office and warehouse space and two state-of-the-art showrooms.

In October 2004 Intech opened its first branch in Delray Beach, Florida. They continue to look for better ways to serve clients by offering quality products and a focus on customer service.
